So I talk in my sleep, right? And I kick like a madwoman in my sleep.
I also text in my sleep. One night, as I lay in bed snoozing, I dreamt that a friend & I were hanging out at Dutch Bros campus, editing videos, goofing off, as we do. It was late. Through some circumstance that I can't remember, we ended up not having a ride home. My friend at the time didn't live excessively far from campus, but still - two girls, walking alone, at night, on campus. It's a recipe for something not very palatable. We were stuck. Though I hated to do so, considering it was 1:00am, I texted my dad, "Can you come pick us up?". I woke up shortly after this to a text from my dad asking, "Where are you?". Confused, I responded telling him that I was in bed. Shortly after, there was a knock on my door. It was my dad, looking very sleepy and confused, wondering what I was doing. I realized that I had texted him not just in my dream, but in reality, and told him not to worry about it. This was not the first time I've texted someone in my sleep, nor was it the last. I texted my cousin saying, "She's goo", which I'm presuming meant "she's good". Who’s good and why I felt the need to tell her that mid sleep I don't know. I texted someone else in my sleep as well, but for the life of me I can't remember who it was or what I said. Which kinda concerns me . . . I made it a point to check my phone first thing every morning to make sure I hadn't texted anyone while I was sleeping. You can imagine how concerning this was every night before falling asleep. Not knowing who you're going to text that night, or worse, what you were going to text that night. Thankfully, it hasn't happened in quite some time (to my knowledge at least), and I've been able to rest easy knowing that that little habit of mine has stopped - at least for now.
