Okay, so I've always been pretty partial to 1993 because I'm a product of it. But in reality, despite my bias opinion, 1993 was a pretty dang sweet year that gave us many epic things. So, in honor of my 23rd birthday, I've decided to compile a list of 23 things that will prove to you how awesome my birth year is. 1. It's the year that Beanie Babies were first introduced. 2. The first episode of Bill Nye the Science Guy was aired. 3. Jelly "jellies" shoes were still a thing (and the epitome of fashion for me in future years). 4. The film Jurassic Park was born. The list can really just stop here. 5. Batman: The Animated Series was airing its first and second season. 6. Certain Dino Roars were released (seriously guys, these things were the bomb.com). 7. Zayn Malik of One Direction was born this year. 8. So was Liam Payne. 9. And Niall Horan. 10. Fisher Price Loving Family Dollhouse was brand new (our cats loved this thing). 11. Whoomp! There It Is by Tag Team was released and on the top charts. 12. Boy Meets World was first aired. 13. So was Walker, Texas Ranger. 14. And Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman 15. Adventures in Odyssey radio drama cassette albums 15, 16, and 17 were aired and released (all wonderful albums). 16. The fifth Adventures in Odyssey film "Star Quest" came out. Still evokes childhood memories. 17. The new Little Tikes multi-level playground was introduced (we never had this one, but I kind of want it now...). 18. KidVision (a home video distributor of children's programming) was created. This is the company that would give us The Magic School Bus one year later. 19. I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers also released this year. 20. Mrs. Doubtfire came out. 21. So did Free Willy. 22. And Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey 23. And The Sandlot. Basically, it was just a great year for movies.
And there you have it. 1993 was the bomb.
