Well, I've been married for 1/4 of a year now. How weird is that?! Life has been a crazy whirlwind. But a good one. Amidst the stress, getting the house set up, food processing, anxiety, and personal battles, I've enjoyed wonderful moments with my new husband. I'm finding marriage to be a grand mixture of difficulties and joy - which I knew to expect, but you never really know...You know? Marriage itself has been great. But doing life with Jon? Beyond great. I'm continuously blessed by his desire and initiative to communicate, as well as problem solve. We're still learning how to love each other as the other needs, but I believe we'll be learning that for decades to come. We both agree that it feels natural to be married, but when we think about the fact that we had a wedding and are now husband and wife, it seems a little weird. We had a wedding. What? I so wish I could put into words all of my thoughts and feelings for that day three months ago. But I'm afraid if I try I will not only fail at expressing them, but ruin the sweetness of them as well. It was a wonderful day. Of course, things went wrong and not everything was perfect, but it might as well have been. I got to marry my best friend. Most of our friends and family were there. There was music from Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, Disney, One Direction, and Anne of Green Gables. I got to wear the dress that my mum, Grammy, and I had spent so much time together altering. I hid a pineapple - two, actually - to pay homage to one of my all-time favorite shows, Psych. I wore Jellies, because they're dope and all that I would allow on my feet as a child. I walked down the aisle to a song from Tangled. We had Disney and Batman coloring pages. And we got to eat cake. Not to mention the beautiful toasts, wonderful dances, and being able to leave for a well-needed vacation with my new husband. The last 3 months have been a rich blessing, and I'm excited to see where God takes us in the months and years to come :) Photography by the AMAZING MarciB Photography :)
